Buying furniture for the kids isn’t anything to take lightly. It’s not like you pick up these products alongside magazines and a pack of gum on the way home from work. You don’t exactly think and say to yourself, “Checking email. Okay done. Queue up the rental DVDs. Check. Buy a crib. Check.” It’s not a routine thing. Your kid’s going to be spending a significant amount of time on their baby furniture, a consistent and routine portion of his or her day will be in this thing; you’ve got to figure out first and foremost if the thing’s safe or not. Then you’ve got to figure out whether you’re going to be able to afford this thing. When you say “afford,” you’re dealing with space; you’re dealing with money and cash; you’re not just dealing with a matter of getting a good deal, financially; you’re talking about your kid here. You’ve got to put in the effort to find quality.
